Rosebery’s community programs support its overall commitment to being a welcomed and valued member of the community in which it operates.

Art and culture

Rosebery actively supports art and culture through the following programs:

10 Days on the Island

Rosebery supports ’10 Days on the Island’, a biennial international arts festival that is the flagship cultural event for Tasmania and attracts audiences in excess of 160,000. The event is supported by the State Government, individuals, organisations and companies. Events are held throughout Tasmania over 10 days.

Rhododendron Garden

Rosebery is providing support to the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden with the construction of a Chinese pavilion in the grounds of the Rhododendron Gardens at Romaine on the North West Coast of Tasmania.

Rosebery Children’s Christmas Parade and Zeehan Community Christmas Party

Rosebery supports the Children’s Christmas Parade and Zeehan Community Christmas Party. These events are held in Rosebery and Zeehan during December to celebrate the spirit of Christmas for the young people in the area.

Rosebery Development Association Heritage Centre

Rosebery supports the Rosebery Heritage Centre by providing in-kind and financial support and more recently assistance for applying for grants.

Rosebery Festival

Rosebery is a major supporter and contributor to the Rosebery Festival held in February each year. The event provides a cultural and artistic experience to the community through theatre, music, poetry, exhibitions, workshops, children’s activities and encourages local talent and artists to perform or exhibit.

Tasmanian Ballet Company Performances and Community Outreach Program

Rosebery is a proud sponsor of the arts through the Tasmanian Ballet which has seen performances of The Nutcracker and Swan Lake come to the Gaiety Theatre in Zeehan.

Rosebery has also developed a Community Outreach Program which involves bringing ballet dancers to local schools for an interactive session with students.

Healthy lifestyle

Rosebery encourages and active and healthy lifestyles through the following sport and activity programs.

Athletic Carnival

Rosebery supports the Athletic Carnival which has been running for over 50 years. Held the third weekend of December each year, the event includes running, cycling, wood chopping and rock drilling.

Rosebery Toorak Football Club

For many years Rosebery has been the major sponsor for the local football team. This team plays in the North West Football Association (NWFA).

School Fruit Program

Rosebery provides the two local schools and childcare centre with a piece of fresh fruit each day for every student. This part of an initiative to introduce good nutrition into the community from an early age.

Tullah Challenge


Rosebery supports the Tullah Challenge, a triathalon held in the rainforests surrounding Tullah on the second weekend of November.  The event involves a 4.5km paddle on Lake Mackintosh, 29km cycle to the Bastyan Power Station and back, and a 7.5km run on a bush track circuit through the rainforest and around the lake shore.

    Rosebery offers education assistance to the local community through local school awards, University of Tasmania Scholarships and Education Grants.
