Are you on a fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) or residential roster*?

I’m on a FIFO roster, 8 days on site 6 days off.

What are the pros/cons of this roster*?

You are able to spend extended periods of time at home since your days off are in 6-day blocks. There’s a clear differentiation between work and home life. You don’t have to worry about cooking when you’re on site.

Working 12 hours a day and having to work on weekends can take a while to get used to but having 6 days off does help. Flights from site can be restricted due to high demand.
